By darrenlongracing, on April 29th, 2011 I think we might be able to start our first race of the season! This Saturday night at KC Raceway in Chillicothe, Ohio. This day has been a long time coming. Weird to think we’ve been off racing since end of November and here we are end of April already. We have really enjoyed the winter time with family, but so ready for nicer weather and racing. Our daughter, Mya, can’t wait for this season to start. She’s trying to learn different states we might venture to this year. So cute to here her pronounce Pennsylvania. Too cute. It’s in her blood. Not sure if that’s a good thing or bad thing.
Racing update: Darren will be racing 410′s this year for those of you who haven’t heard. Our first stop tomorrow night will be KC Raceway and Eldora Speedway the following weekend with the World of Outlaws. We don’t have a set schedule for this year. This year we will be racing where we want and what works best for the family. Kinda nice for a change. Please check back for a weekly update on where we plan to head for that particular weekend. Thanks for all your support and prayers and look forward to seeing you at a track near you!-Julie Long
By darrenlongracing, on February 7th, 2011 If I was to participate in 2011 racing season I knew I couldn’t wait forever. I am pleased to announce Darren Long Motorsports will be back in operation. We plan on running more of an All Star schedule, but with the freedom to pick & choose where we go any given weekend. Thanks to all those who have supported and continue to support Darren Long Motorsports. – Darren
By darrenlongracing, on December 1st, 2010 With the last race weekend in hand JGRacing and Darren Long were thanks for giving another two nights to compete. With yet another cold or maybe some food poisoning Saturday was a little tough but Darren kept his stomach in tack for another top-5 and two top10’s.
Friday evening at LVMS after starting 7th in the heat, some called this last; Darren was running 2nd by turn two on the first lap. After settling in no more positions were gained garnering several points for his coveted A-Main starting position.
Starting on the pole for the feature early on Darren was following the 15h and 21 but an early caution for the 15h left the JGRacing entry in the runner-up spot. It was then though that the car began to tighten up and with each ensuing lap the car got a little worse. Able to maintain 4th, the final lock-in position for Saturday, it was on the final lap Joey Saldana blew by leaving the blue and black 3g in 5th. A stuck open tire bleeder was the culprit for the tight car.
On Saturday evening last in the heat was also referred to as 8th, which coincidentally was also Darren’s starting spot in the third heat. With another magnificent start in the heat on this night he was third after the first lap. The position was maintained and more than enough points were gained for another B-Main free night.
Starting off 7th on the rubber down track Darren knew that moving forward would be difficult. At the end of the 30 laps only one spot was attained handing the team a 6th place finish. During the lap 23 restart a car hit the restart cone, this was the only position gained during the entire race.
JGRacing with Darren Long ended the year 12th place in the final points with the ASCS National Tour. The entire team would like to thank their great supporters and team members for their hard work and dedication to the team this year!

By darrenlongracing, on November 24th, 2010 I can’t believe I am saying we have approached our final race of the season. Still not sure where this year has gone. Truck and Trailer arrived safely yesterday to Las Vegas and Darren made it back home safely yesterday. We will fly out to Vegas later this week as a family. So thankful Mya and I can be with Darren for this final race this year. You will be able to Listen Live on racinboys.com or you can go to speedchannel.com to Watch this weekend of racing. It’s $12.95 to Watch both nights or $9.95 for one of the nights.

By darrenlongracing, on November 17th, 2010 Being out on the west coast can have some advantages. It isn’t colder than, make your own finish, and the sights aren’t what you have seen every day for years. But it also keeps you away from the family. Darren is a race car driver but he is also looking forward to some down time with his wife and daughter that this offseason will allow.
Friday night at New Mexico Speedway starting off in the 8 hole for the fifth heat isn’t exactly what Darren and the team had in mind but nevertheless the 3g took it. At the drop of the green flag the JGRacing entry got two cars on the front straight. After being passed by a single car Darren gained the spot back from another driver near the end gaining a fourth place finish.
Now starting 14th for the feature the start was where the blue and black 3g once again picked up a few positions. Halfway through Darren found himself in 8th place on the tricky track surface. Under caution feeling he was making a good choice the wing was slid back for better traction. What it did though was cause the car to bicycle even harder getting Darren freight trained losing four spots. Just before the end one spot was made up ending the night in 11th.
Saturday night the start in the heat was better, but not by much. After starting 7th in the second heat the JGRacing entry was 5th by the time the first lap was over. Then after a wreck involving two cars Darren was 3rd on the ensuing restart. With some more two wheel action a position was lost and he finished up 4th again.
Now starting pole for the third B-Main Darren checked out and hid gaining not only a victory but an A-Main starting spot.
Starting off 19th on the still unique track surface the JGRacing just wanted to get all 30 laps clicked off. With very little passing on the bottom feeder track he had to wait and pick his “fights” wisely, with a few passes early in the race, none were gotten after halfway, Darren left with a 16th place finish.

By darrenlongracing, on November 7th, 2010 The final month of racing will begin this weekend in New Mexico with the ASCS National Tour. Tucson, Arizona the following weekend and the final race of 2010 ending Thanksgiving weekend in Las Vegas.

By darrenlongracing, on October 6th, 2010 With the light getting brighter and brighter at the end of tunnel, and that said end becoming much closer, Darren Long with JGRacing picked up their first career top-5 finish in ASCS National racing.
Friday evening at Riverside Speedway the team got into something that plagued them early in the year, a bad pill draw. Starting off 6th in the third heat Darren knew the deck was stacked against him. With the car just a tick off he fell one spot to 7th relegating him to the first B-Main.
Deep in the pack starting 12th the JGRacing entry would need 9 positions to make it in to the feature. With the car better he was only able to grab three finishing up in the 9th spot ending the night early.
With the morning and afternoon to work on the car and their bellies full of BBQ the team changed the car back to their tried and true set-up that has been working great the last couple of months, a good pill draw never hurts as well. Starting off on the outside of the front row Darren took the lead and never looked back winning the sixth heat race of the evening.
Locked into the feature and with the car on a rail the blue and black 3g would begin the 50 lap finale in 13th place. Running the bottom side of the track like everyone else Darren was in the top-10 on the very first lap. By lap twenty the JGRacing entry was in the top-5 hounding the back bumper of Tony Bruce who was just behind Brian Brown looking for a bobble to climb further up the ladder. The bobble however came from the wrong car when an infield tire gave Darren a little more forward bite than he wanted sending the front end skyward. After getting out of the fuel for a blip Kyle Hirst was able to get by and Darren then followed him the remaining 25 laps to round out the top-5.
This week’s Red Line Oil question is; what year did Darren drive around Kasey Kahne to win the first Old Spice Sizzler at Eldora Speedway? This week’s winner will receive a Hoosier Tire Hat. Please send answers to zeakemedia@gmail.com

By darrenlongracing, on October 1st, 2010 Where has summer gone? OK.. Where has this year gone? Ok, Are you sure we have raced 40 some races so far and have so far traveled at least 25,000 miles and many more miles to go? Wow… Now that is a packed spring and summer.lol.. I have looked back and reflected on the spring and summer and can’t believe all the places we’ve been and all the things we’ve seen and all the races we have raced. So many people don’t leave their town, let alone their state, but we have been blessed to travel the United States. I just pray our 3 yr old daughter Mya will remember something from it all. If you’d ask her what she’s liked she’d tell you staying in the hotels with a pool. Lol..She’ll make sure it’s and indoor pool not an outdoor pool. lol.. She’d tell ya she’s liked the few plane rides we’ve taken. She’s always asking, ” when can we go on another?” Mya will tell you her favorite thing at the races is getting to go in the pits with her daddy and get a pit race band. She always wants to guess what color she might get for the night.lol.. Seeing racing through a child’s life is the best. It has been so neat to see God’s hand at work not only in our lives, but so many of the lives around us. God has definitely protected and provided on and off the race track this racing season. I am excited for the finish of this season as it approaches, but Pray when it’s all said and done, that Darren, Mya, and I have have left a mark on what a racing family is and should be. A family who loves and supports each other and is there every step of the way no matter the cost. There is nothing like Mya standing in the stands yelling, ” Go Daddy Go!” Now that there is priceless. A memory for me that I will hold onto. We are looking forward to the next 6 weekends of racing with the tour. We will have a few weekends off here and there and we will finish up Thanksgiving weekend racing in Las Vegas. Thanks for all the support so may have given this year.
Looking forward to what’s to come.

By darrenlongracing, on September 29th, 2010 With just a single Saturday to run this past weekend at Lucas Oil Speedway JGRacing could concentrate solely on that single night. What they did was grab another solid top-10 finish as the season begins to wind down.
Saturday evening in the sixth heat race of the event Darren started in the third position needing to move forward or be relegated to one of the three B-Mains for that night. Using the top shelf of the track the blue and black 3g made it to 2nd place handing the team an outside row 8 slot for feature time.
For the A, which came a little late due to Mother Nature, Darren knew that once again his car would be fast with Joe and Tim’s hard work. At the drop of the green flag a slight stumble caused the JGRacing entry to lose a few spots in the early laps. Using the bottom and finding it hard to pass this position was held for the first 8 laps. It was at this time Darren began to utilize the top side once again and the march to the front was on. Now with just three laps left and on the final restart the car stumbled slightly again dropping the 3g back a few positions but the team still garnered a top-10 finish for the evening.
This week’s Red Line Oil question is; what year did Darren win the very first Old Spice Sizzler at Eldora Speedway? This week’s winner will receive a Hoosier Tire Hat. Please send answers to zeakemedia@gmail.com
