What a weekend it was here in Seattle. Darren won his heat race Friday night. Finished 15th in the A Main. Saturday night started on the pole of his heat and broke a spark plug. Started 11th in the B main and finished 5th. Saturday A Mains went sour very quick. Midgets before the 360 Sprints had a Guy take a severe tumble and had to transport him so he could be life flighted out. Then Wayne Johnson took a tumble in lap 2 of the A main and had to be transported so he could be life flighted out. After all that it makes You thankful for Just having spark plug issues.
Sunday we spent the day downtown Seattle. We did lots of walking, but had a great day. We closed out our evening Worshiping at Mars Hill Church Downtown Campus. It was an increadible church service. Monday we went to MT. Rainer all day. Wow, to be so close to the top of that snow covered mountain, but to still be so far away. Mya had fun playing in the snow that was laying here and there. So weird that it was July and still snow laying around. It was even sunny and 64. On our way back to hotel we found out that Travis Riley on the tour along with Tyson Perez on his crew were involved in a alcohol and fire explosion and severely burnt.
Today we are headed to Oregon where we will race this weekend. Our first stop today was to go to Harbor View Hospital in Seattle to visit Wayne Johnson, Travis Riley and Tyson Perez. Wayne is doing very well and might even get to go home today. They were taking him shortly to evaluate everything again. He will be able to keep his foot. This was in question a couple days ago. Travis & Tyson are both on ventilators and its just a wait a see for these guys still. They have a long road ahead of them due to their burns. Rilets family is all here and Tyson’s family should be here anytime now. They Just have a lot on their plate and trying to figure everything out from where to stay to how long do you stay to who’s coming and going etc.. Travis has a little baby girl who had to stay back in Texas so please keep that all in your prayers. I’m sure that had to be very hard leaving her behind with a friend.
Another reminder on this trip of how Big our God is and his love for us. So thankful for every moment we are given here on earth. A reminder to live life to the fullest. Always telling the ones you love, I Love You.
