Darren fills in at Limaland

Darren raced the White, Orange, and Yellow #57 car last night at Lima Land Motorsports Park. Started 12th in the A main and was up to 5th with 6 laps to go when Darren entered too high in turn 2 and spun it around. It was nice to watch him flying around that track last night. Looking forward to next Friday night, at Lima Land Motorsports Park, for another opportunity to race the #57 again. -Julie Long

June 24th Limaland Speedway All-Star Circuit of Champions

Darren ran one of his 2 planned races at his home track in the All-Star Circuit of Champions race as part of Ohio Speedweeks.  Darren started the night by qualifying 30th out of 41 cars with a time of 11.947.  Darren then ran in the 3rd heat and had a 7th place finish which pushed him to the B-Main as he needed to finish in the top 5 to qualify for the A-feature.  Darren then came up just short in the B-Main with a 6th place finish as he needed a top 4 to get into the A-Feature.  Overall it was not a night we had hoped for. Car was too tight and the thought of possible motor issues were on our minds. We had to run the B Main starting 8th. With a couple laps to go bumped front stretch wall and broke Jacobs ladder. Night had ended for the Green & White #7. Saturday the motor was investigated and it had broken valve springs. On Monday, the motor was taken to be repaired. Depending on motor we’ll see what this weekend hold for racing. Check back later this week for more information.

6/11 Racing Recap

What another night of racing. Started off so good. Qualified 7th out of 32 cars. Darren was in the 3rd heat starting 3rd and was fast and Won his heat race! Darren was in the redraw and Drew a 3 to start the feature. On first lap in turn 3&4 two guys collected in front of Darren. Thankful Darren didn’t flip, but a lot of front car damage. 7 cars ended up being involved in that wreck. We had to call it a night. Ohio Speed Week with the All Stars starts next weekend. Not sure what races we will be racing yet. Check back later this week for the update. – Julie Long

Memorial Day Recap

What a weekend. With all the rain in the area Memorial Day weekend we were finally able to race Monday night at I-96 Speedway with the World of Outlaws. Started the night off drawing the highest pill and had to qualify last. Steller start to the night as Darren would say. Started and finished 7th in the heat race. Pretty much follow the leader during all the heat races. Had to run the B Main starting 2nd. Closed in on 1st place with 2 laps to go and he slows down on the back stretch. Car was finally looking a little better out there and this is not what we wanted to see. Darren’s wheel cover bent and packed the wheel with mud. Darren had no choice but to pull it in. It was nice to get qualifying time back and he was able to start 20th in the A Main. Changes were made to the car again in hopes to make something happen out there.  On the start of the feature 7 cars were collected in a wreck on the front stretch. To try and avoid It Darren dove to the bottom of the track and got pushed into the infield tire and dirt pile. Right rear tire had to be changed and we’d try it again. Darren was off flying around that track.  With two laps to go Darren had been fighting for 9th place with Kraig Kinser. In turn one Kraig started sliding sideways and Darren tried to miss him and caught the back end of him and got top wing damage. While the red was out for Kinser Darren couldn’t get the motor to cool down at all. She was maxed out as he would put it. With hardly any fuel left, two laps to go, a broken wing,  and an over heated motor, he pulled it in. With all the torn up cars and crashes for the very long  feature we are very thankful for the minimal damages to the car. After it was all said and done finished 16th for the night.
No racing on tap for this weekend. Check back soon for where you can find us next.
